Descripció
The prehistoric site of Closos de Can Gaià, located in Portocolom, is one of the most important Bronze Age settlements in Mallorca. It was inhabited from approximately 1700 BC to 750 BC.

The nine construction structures that have been discovered to date stand out from this site. These structures, called navetes, served mainly as private domestic spaces or as houses. They also had a clear public and symbolic function and were used as a square, where the social and representative relations of the village took place.

Excavation campaigns began in 1996 by the University of the Balearic Islands. These campaigns continue every summer and have the support of the Felanitx Town Council.
