It is a bronze sculpture that is located right in front of the Casa de Cultura. It was donated by the Felanitx sculptor Jaume Mir in 1992.
Jaume Mir (1915-2012) was one of the most prestigious Mallorcan sculptors of the 20th century and his work and rigorous technique are internationally recognized.
In January 1992, the Casa de Cultura held a large exhibition dedicated to the Felanitx sculptor on the occasion of the awarding of the gold medal of the Cercle de Belles Arts. The exhibition included a good sample of all his work. The inaugural event brought together a large audience, which completely filled the auditorium. When the exhibition ended, Jaume Mir decided to give two of his sculptures to the town of Felanitx. One of them was this foner.
