Descripció
The building, in regionalist style, was built during the Second Republic by the architect Francesc Roca i Simó and inaugurated on July 19, 1936, just after the start of the Civil War. Located in the historic center, it was erected on a sloping site, where the old hospital and the Sa Quartera building used to stand. To compensate for the unevenness, a semi-basement floor was designed.
The facades, made of materials such as stone, concrete and cement, stand out for their symmetry and regional elements, such as semi-circular arches. Inside, there is a large nave supported by octagonal pillars.
The Municipal Market is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 8 am to 1:30 pm and offers fresh produce and bar service.
